The QHY9 is a classic mono camera using the very popular 8.3 Megapixel KAF-8300 CCD sensor. This sensor has a relatively large field of view for its price, and good QE for deep sky imaging. The peak QE is 56%, and it has 48% QE at the wavelength of H-alpha. 
 
Then QHY9 has two-stage TEC with a typical delta T of -45C below ambient. This offers outstanding thermal noise control. Compared to competing models, the QHY9 offers -20 to -25 degrees of additional cooling.  The QHY9 give you excellent dark current noise reduction even in long exposures taken on a hot summer night.  The model QHY9 is also a round design, more appropriately suited for use in Hyperstar telescopes.
