I am interested in getting the QHY268C camera but I have some questions.

1. What comes with the camera?
 a. One reviewer indicates that it comes with a very short (5 ft) USB 3.0 cable. Can a longer cable be used?
 b. Telescope Interface (M54): Is there an adapter to convert to a T2 connection?
 c. There apparently is no IR Cut filter. Is this correct?

2. It has a very short back focus (17.5mm). What is required to get it to a more standard 55mm?

3. What is the actual length of the photographic version?

Thanks,
  JohnD

Hello JohnD,

Thank you very much for your interesting on QHY268C. For your questions,

1. What comes with the camera?
You can find it in 268C manual:   https://www.qhyccd.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=30&id=279

 a. One reviewer indicates that it comes with a very short (5 ft) USB 3.0 cable. Can a longer cable be used?

We have two USB extender (5meter, 10meter, with amplifer inside) that you can use for extend. Our technical support can tell you the detail brand and model.

 b. Telescope Interface (M54): Is there an adapter to convert to a T2 connection?

      There is a M54 to 2inch T ring in the package I think .

 c. There apparently is no IR Cut filter. Is this correct?

There is no IR cut fitler. Because we found the halo is relative with the position and the current position of optic windows it is more easy to bring halo. Put the IR filter a little farwary from the optic window will give much better results. If you use the 2inch T ring you can install the 2inch L filter on front of the T-ring. There is a screw for connect it. If you do not use T-ring but use the connection with 55mm focal reductor. We have some other optional part (not in come with the camera) that you can put the 2inch filter in.

2. It has a very short back focus (17.5mm). What is required to get it to a more standard 55mm?

We have some solution for 55mm. Is it the M48/0.75 thread for your 55mm flatter?

3. What is the actual length of the photographic version?

it is about 112mm . Please look at https://www.qhyccd.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=94&id=56&cut=1

Qiu thanks for your reply. The manual gives me a lot of information as well as generating a few more questions.

1. What is the true effective image area excluding the optic black area and overscan area?
2. No AC adapter? One reviewer said he got one and the manual mentions a 12v AC adapter.
3. How long are the "self-locking power cable" and the 12v car power adapter?
4. You mention that you should not use too long of a power cable. Do you have a rough
estimate of at what length you could run into a problem?
