Ha Filter on QHY8... how do you do it?

Ha Filter on QHY8... how do you do it?
« on: August 29, 2007, 10:02:59 AM »
Just curious what options people are using to fit their Ha filter in the image path on their QHY8. Are you using a T-Thread to 1.25" (or 2") nose piece? Or a filter wheel? Or a T-Threaded filter?

Any hints would be useful :)

Hello,

You can use a Null M42 to M42 adapter. This is just the adapter of the optic windows(with not glass installed)  It has 2inch filter screw inside.  Please see this topic:

Hiya Steve!

Fancy seeing you on here!

I am looking into getting a filter wheel as I want to be able to use Ha, UHC and other narrow band filters on the camera.

Hope this helps

Eddie

Nope, looking at scary 2" ones! No point in having a camera like this and using 1.25" filters  :-\ Though would be interesting to see how bad a 1.25" filter would be, will have to get my filter wheel out!

Did you try with 1.25" filters?  I'm setup with a complete set of 1.25" with my filterwheel.......am loathe to spend more $$$ on upgrading because of the APS sozed ccd.......I wonder how much field cropping or vignetting I'll get (awaiting QHY8 camera to bf delivered atm)

Best regards,

How safe is having the whole weight of the camera and cables put onto the 0.75 mm threads of the 2" filter?
