QHYCCD Standard Software Q&A / QHY294C and temperature setting...

I'm using QHY294C and I can't set temperature properly with Beta version of EZCapture (https://www.qhyccd.com/download.html)
The temperature stay constant on any setting! (TEC off or Auto Control mode).
See attached image.

I see your note about Input Voltage on

I had to reboot the PC and camera few times (camera was not working or fan don't run).

I use the 12V power adapter and power cable include in the camera package.
I would be surprised if the voltage is not 12V.

Any idea?


I'm using QHY168C and QHY294C Camera. I have installed beta version as recommended (to use with QHY294C) on https://www.qhyccd.com/download.html

QHYCCD_Win_AllInOne. and installed EZCAP_QT(64 bits).

When I connect QHY168C and use focus tab, I'm not able to see any stars, I'm able to use preview tab and take picture but focus tab is not working, not stars are visible (the screen is always black)

Any idea?

I already have QHY168C camera and I plan to buy a QHY294C camera.
Can I run 2 instances of EZCAP_QT on Windows to controle the cameras?


Someone have the right solution to connect Canon lens with QHY168C and Geoptick Adapter :


I'm not able to find the right ring to connect both.
Lens canon must be a 44mm from the CCD.
On the camera I have M54(F) Center Adjust ring (18mm)
Geoptick Adapter (19mm)

44mm - 18mm - 19mm = 7mm (I need to find the right set of ring to connect).


Image Issue Q&A / QHY168C Noise problem last night

Since last night, I have a noise problem with QHY168C.

The image (NGC1579) at right was 300 secondes at -10 deg (a week ago). The Image is very good with low noise.

and image a left was also 300 secondes at -20 deg (last night), I got a lots of noise!!!! :-\

Do you know why a got a lots of noise now? I did a test at -10 deg and I got same result.

I can not process the image... too noisy. The offset and gain seems have no effet. I'm using EzCapture version FWVersion 17-0-20.

Who can help me with this problem?

Here my first tests with QHY168C.
William Optics + QHY168C (No filter and no focal reducer)
EZCAP_QT has been used.
Temperature : 0° C
Gain : 1, Offset : 0
Exposure : around 15 of 120 secondes.
Processed with 12 darks images in Pixinsight.

Color balance not good for now!

Astronomical Photography / Focus comparaison Canon T1i et QHT168C

I got my QHY168C last week, since 5 nights i'm not able to get a fine focus with a simple setup :
William Optics 80mm and QHY168C.
The stars doesn't look good as my Canon T1i on the same telescope.
I noticed, the stars are bluried with less color. (both images are not processed)

But the picture at left was taken using this setup:
William Optics 80mm + flield flattener + clip on Astronomik CCD-CLS filter + Canon T1i

I'm waiting adjustment rings to put the same setup with QHY168.
I do not know if the stars will be better with same flield flattener  and same astronomik filter.

I'm using 80mm William Optics with QHY168C.
On the attachment you can see gost stars at left. I have only the telescope with QHY168C, no lens between.
Do you know why I have these ghosts?

You can compare with image at right. This is the same field.

I'm trying to connect QHY168C using field flattener (Astro-tech 2") and M48 filter (CLS-CCD Astronomik)

According to the documentation here :

I need adapter number 020076 and 020077.
020077 adapter must connect to the flield flattener wich is 42mm.

Someone can confirm this?
