New Camera Information / The new QHY410C with 120ke fullwell

Hello,

In June. We will release a new product.  QHY410C.  This camera is a 14BIT, BSI,full frame format. 5.94um pixel size , 24mega pixels color camera. 120ke fullwell.   

It is like the "BSI" version of QHY128C.   The price is USD3695. (The QHY128C price will be adjusted to USD2695 in this month)

Hello,

       Because recently we get some professional requirement for the QHY268 functions. So we decide to seperate the QHY268 to three version also. it is

QHY268 early bird version  USD2399
QHY268 photograhic version USD2099   Available after April.
QHY268 pro version   price TBD.

The QHY268C early bird version can be upgrade to QHY268 Pro version in future.


The major different is similar with the three version of QHY600.

Hello,
       In this month we will begin to delivery the early bird price QHY600!  In this topic , I will keep on posting the lastest news of this camera. The context will be put to QHYCCD facebook also.

       QHYCCD offer a limited Early Bird Price for the user order in these month.  The early bird price is USD5000. If ordering a QHYCFW3L or QHYCFW3XL together with QHY600 early bird price , can get 10% discount for CFW3L/XL.

       QHY600 includes two version. One is the QHY600U3, we call it as Photography version or Amateur version . Another is the QHY600U3G20, we call it as Professional version.

       The QHY600 early bird price is based on the Professional version hardware design. But not offer most of the professional function in the professional version.

       In this NEAF we will show a new Full frame camera by using the sony 60mega pixel cmos sensor. Back illuminated. 16bit ADC .

New Camera Information / First light of QHY411

Hello,

          Finally we have get the QHY411 working!  Here is the first light. Although it is not astronomical image but it shows the camera can run now! We will bring this camera to NEAF to show in next month. 


           QHY411 is a high-end medium format back illuminated camera with sony IMX411 sensor. It will be the first 16bit native ADC cooled CMOS camera. 150mega pixel.  3.76um pixel size. Excellent Fullwell (44ke to 49ke) and very low readout noise. Effective image area is 54*40mm

           QHY411 has a brother QHY461. Which is 100mp sensor. , same 16bit ,3.76um and other performance. We will make it also. Effective image area is 44*33mm.

New Camera Information / QHY2020 dark frame

It is said the nake eye can see the single photon and very high sensitivity.  Many years before I hope one day we can see the realtime through camera and has better sensitivity than nake eyes. Now we get it. With the 95% super QE and scientific ultra low readout noise. Now we can record the real sky at the mag. 9.5 on 24FPS real time video. Please look at this results here (380MB MP4 video,100sec. ). Which is ten times sensitivity than nake eyes.

This video is captured with Sharpcap3.2pro  . With the realtime dark frame calibration of Sharpcap to remove the FPN noise of QHY42. QHY42 works in highest gain.

New Camera Information / QHY42PRO is almost done

Hello,

         Recently we did some improvement of the QHY42 and the improved model is QHY42PRO. To Compare with QHY42, The QHY42 pro has the following improvement

1. Support both STD mode and HDR mode.  The STD mode outputs the 2048*2048 single channel image. The HDR mode support 2048*2*2048 (4096*2048) dual ADC image. One ADC is set to low gain and another ADC is set to high gain.

2.The STD 2048*2048 support both 24FPS and 48FPS readout speed. We recommend use 24FPS since the FPN noise is much smaller than 48FPS

3. Support the native single frame readout with DDR buffered. The original QHY42 is taking a frame from the video streaming so it may cause some trouble (eg. one frame delay). The native single frame readout will resolve this issue.

4. We will add a RBI-preflash board to the QHY42PRO and to resolve the RBI photon remain issue .


The support frame rate/resolution/adc-bit is

STD mode
2048*2048  24FPS  8BIT/12BIT
2048*2048  48FPS  8BIT only

HDR mode
4096*2048  12FPS  8BIT/12BIT
4096*2048  24FPS  8bit only



QHY42PRO has Grade 1 Sensor version has Grade 2 Sensor version. And also we have some Grade 3 sensor version. The image showed here is with a Grade 2 sensor. The specification of grade 1, 2, 3 is

Grade 1: No defect column or row
Grade 2: There is Defect column or row but no defect cluster . Normally they can be removed by defect tools.
Grade 3: There is defect cluster.



In the image of EZCAP_QT captured, the left is low gain channel and right is high gain channel. It is easy to see that the HDR mode expanding the dynamic range a lot. In the left channel, you can see nothing in dark part. but in right channel you can see there is light in this part. An in right channel you can see the saturated area , while in the left image these area is not saturated.


The QHY42 user can upgrade to QHY42PRO in free upgrade cost  (not include ship cost).

New Camera Information / new camera:QHY550

QHY550 is our new designed camera. Will be release in Nov.2018. It use the sony global shutter cmos IMX250. 5mega pixel, 12bit , 3.45um pixel size,  68FPS@5mega.  2-stage cooled,  USB3.0

It has three models. Monochrom, Color and Polarize version

The Polarize version is the highlight of QHY550. It is an unique sensor with the on-pixel polarize filter.  With 4 directions.

New Camera Information / QHY294C camera performance test data

Readout noise.

The IMX294C sensor has HGC and LGC mode. HGC mode can reduce the readout noise a lot.  In the whole gain range , if working under the HGC mode, the gain is 1.6e to 1.0e . If working under LGC mode , the gain is 6.8e to 4.2e. 

Under lowest gain of the HGC mode, the fullwell is about 14.5ke.

QHYCCD SDK for LABVIEW / LABVIEW programming with QHYCCD SDK start

QHYCCD's SDK can be used in Labview directly. We have wrote two demo software to show the single frame mode and live video mode.  You can modify it to your codes. Or import the new API function by following this demo.


First, this demo is using the LABVIEW x64 version. So that you need to use the qhyccd_x64.dll. You can find this file in the QHYCCD windows SDK package.   It can be found in http://www.qhyccd.com/SWHIST_SDK.html

To use the demo code. Please following this step

1. Make a new folder , for example:  D:/LABVIEWQHYCCD
2. Copy the demo vi files into this folder
3. Copy the qhyccd_x64.dll into this folder

You need to install the LABVIEW 2010 64bit  or above version
You need to install the NI VISION DEVELOPMENT MODULE 2010 or above version


Run the vi directly. If it say the qhyccd_x64.dll can not found you need to redefine the location of it. Normally the LABVIEW will search this folder automatically to get it.

          After the first batch of the monochrome IMX183 sensor comes the QHY183M is ready to go. We will begin to delivery the camera from next week.

          Here is the 300sec and 900 sec dark frame test results. -20C cooled. Gain=0.
